Castles of Italy offers a selection of Castles throughout Italy where you can arrange your holiday. From this site you can contact the owners or managers directly and make your arrangements directly.
From the Arab-Norman and Byzantine wonders of Palermo in Sicily to the majestic peaks of the Dolomites, Italy is a movable feast of endless courses. No matter how much you gorge yourself on its splendours, you always feel you haven't made it past the antipasti. Few countries offer such variety and few visitors leave without a fervent desire to return. The Italians are not joking when they call their home Il Belpaese, the Beautiful Country.
But one can not pass through this land without being aware of Medieval Tuscany. Still visible are the small walled towns which are a testimony to the Middle Ages just as much as its great cities.
Tuscany is one of Italy's world famous regions. Tuscany, with its enchanted landscapes from the mountain to the sea. Tuscany, with its towns with museums, cathedrals, historical buildings, streets, towns like Florence, Siena, Pisa and more. Tuscany, full of ancient Etruscan and Roman ruins...
Castles, fortresses, watch-towers, and town walls appear everywhere; some are well preserved, others are in ruins, but the main remnants are not on the tourist routes.

Postua in the Province of Vercelli
This village has probably Celtic origins. It is made of different hamlets surrounded by vast fields and thick woods. It is a place frequented by French tourists. Its name comes from its geographic position: Posteua means after the water and Postua is positioned at the extreme end of the valley of the river Stona. The Parish of the Assumption, built around the middle of 1600, has precious wooden baroque alters and Vallari frescoes. The Sanctuary of the Madonna Addolorata is also well known, whose origins date back to 1563.
It is also worth mentioning the Church of Saint Martha and Saint Bernardino, The Oratory of Saint Agatha and Saint Roch, the Church of Saint Lawrence on the Mounts and the church of Saint Gothard in the Riva hamlet. From the Roncole hamlet starts the path for Noveis, a mountain pasture amongst the most beautiful of the area.
